Fire safety visit
Middle IV pupils enjoyed a visit from Nicola Martin, a firefighter from Halifax Fire Station. She showed some very interesting DVDs and taught the children about fire and road safety.
Here are some extracts from the letters they wrote to thank her :
I wonder why people make hoax calls. I will never ever make a hoax call in my whole life. (James)
Thank you so much for coming in and talking about safety. I make sure I wear my seatbelt because I know how important it is. (Isabella)
The videos helped me to realise why we should have an escape plan in case of a fire. (Riya)
Thank you for coming to our school and talking to us. The first thing I did when I got home was check the smoke alarms. (Emily A.)
I managed to get all of my family together and now we have got a fire escape plan. (Lucy H.)
I am never going to make a hoax call because I know that if you make a hoax call, you might actually kill someone. (Cameron)
I promise to always wear my seatbelt. I thought that, if you’re just going up the road, there’s no point in wearing a seatbelt, but now I understand. (Grace)
Now I am trying my utmost to accomplish what I want to achieve- and that is to be safe. (Imran)
