La Fete des Rois
Children from Year 5 have been celebrating the French Festival of the Kings (La Fete des Rois) in their first French lesson of the New Year. On January 6th, French families traditionally share a crown-shaped cake in which is hidden a bean. The person who discovers the bean in their slice of cake (usually rigged so that it is the youngest member of the family!) becomes king or queen for the day and is able to issue orders!
