MIV’s Victorian Trip
On Thursday 15th November 2007 Middle IV visited Bradford Industrial Museum, and, as always, it was an exciting and rewarding experience.
The morning was spent in Moorside Board School, with the children experiencing life in a classroom as it would have been around 1885. Real Victorian children would then have gone on to work for about eight hours in the nearby woollen mill. Our children were able to see some of the machines that would have been in use in those days, and could imagine how hot, noisy, dusty and dangerous it must have been.
In the warm sunshine of a beautiful autumn day, the trip ended with a look around the workers’ back to back cottages and the more luxurious home of the mill owner.
