Amrik workshop
UIV workshop day with artist Amrik Varkalis
Artist Amrik Varkalis was invited to The Gleddings to involve Year 6 children in a workshop day providing them with the opportunity to create their own landscape composition.
They have been studying the styles of a wide variety of artists in ‘A Sense of Place’ – Unit 6C.
Amrik introduces her work and describes to the children how her Yorkshire landscapes are influenced by the colours of her Indian background.
The children plan their compositions.
They experiment with spatulas and palette knives to apply the acrylic paint.
Amrik is on hand to demonstrate techniques and to offer advice.
Levels of attention and concentration are high.
A satisfied artist!
