Christmas Carol Concert

Our carol concert this year took place at St. Jude’s church. We were treated to a lovely evening of music and readings before Upper and Middle IV headed back to school with their families for some lighter entertainment.

Videos of the evening follow:

Carol Singing at Lloyds Banking Group Head Office

On Thursday 14th December, a group of Upper and Middle IV children headed down the hill to Copley Data Centre to sing for the staff of Lloyds Bank. Teaming up with the musical talent of Ravenscliffe School, the children performed a number of Christmas favourites.   Our children then went on to a second performance in the Trinity Road Head Office building.

Carol Singing at Ing Royde

On Thursday the Upper School Choir visited our neighbours at Ing Royde residential home.  The children sang a variety of Christmas carols with the residents and greatly enjoyed chatting to them afterwards.

Autumn Music Recital

Children from Form I upwards entertained their families on Tuesday evening in an informal recital at school.  Many of the children are working towards their next music grade and took the opportunity to perform their exam pieces.

A musical afternoon with our neighbours

On Thursday a group of children spent a very enjoyable afternoon with our neighbours at Ing Royde.  They performed a number of songs for the residents before joining them for refreshments and a chat.  We are already looking forward to visiting again soon!

Form III Samba

Form III have been learning about the variety of instruments used in samba music.  They played together and brought a little bit of Brazil to Birdcage Lane!

Spring Concert 2017

On Wednesday we were treated to another fantastic evening of music at the Viaduct Theatre, Dean Clough.  Children from Lower I upwards were involved in a broad range of vocal and instrumental performances. Well done to all who took part.

A big well done to the Violin Club!  They entertained parents and children at Celebration Assembly with ‘Gypsy Fiddle’ which they all played from memory!

Christmas Carol Concert

Wednesday evening saw the school and their families travel to the Halifax Minster for our annual carol concert.  We were entertained by a festive mix of music, songs and readings, with Form 2 providing a nativity tableau.

Lower School Nativity

Year 1 children entertained their audiences with amazing performances of ‘Shine Star, Shine’ this week.

The story tells of how the big star loses his ability to shine, at an extremely crucial historical moment!

The performers were ably assisted in their singing by the Nursery and Lower I children.
