Sports Day fun

On June 15th, the whole school took part in Sports Day. The children started the afternoon by demonstrating The Gleddings’ annual dance choreographed by Mrs McHugh and Miss Angela. The weather was kind to us and everyone enjoyed the fun races.  Even the parents and younger siblings had a chance to compete.

At the end of the afternoon the parents joined their children for a repeat of the dance on the all weather pitch before enjoying well deserved ice lollies, cakes and drinks.

Middle IV dance

Middle IV has been studying different styles of dance during their P.E lessons. They started with a Tudor dance and then experienced a Flamenco dance. We moved on to hip hop street dancing, where the boys in particular showed great promise and flair. This unit of dance was finished with the very popular disco dancing.

Netball match

On Wednesday 24th March Form III & Lower IV, Middle IV & Upper IV netball teams played a match against Hipperholme and Lightcliffe Preparatory School. Our younger netball players won by 3 goals to 1.  Our Upper IV and Middle IV netball team had a very exciting match: at 6-6, with only five seconds left, Hipperholme and Lightcliffe scored, meaning we lost by 7 goals to 6.

Congratulations to all players on such a high standard of netball.

Sponsored run

During the week of October 5th all children took part in a sponsored run to raise money for the building of Crossley Heath’s sports hall.

Every child ran with such amazing speed and stamina. They had twenty minutes to run as many laps as possible around the football field. Upper IV boys managed to run the most laps but were closely followed by Middle IV boys.

At present we have raised £1.138.45! Thank you very much for your enormous generosity.
