In our last few minutes at The Gleddings we get to do all the “MUST NOTS” – run up the fire escape, slide down the banister and climb the trees. It was great! Worth waiting 8 years for!

On 18^th June, Upper IV successfully completed a 2 hour basic first aid course run by the British Heart Foundation which taught them how to deal with several emergency situations. The course includes dealing with an injured but conscious casualty, with an unconscious casualty who may or may not be breathing, how to deal with a suspected heart attack and how to deal with a choking or seriously bleeding casualty. Knowing what to do when someone has a cardiac arrest is important. If you can do CPR you can buy the time needed for professional help to arrive.

On Wednesday 19th May Upper IV had their suitcases packed ready for the residential trip to Dobroyd Castle in Todmorden.

The weather was good, the food was excellent and all the activities proved to be fun yet challenging.

We all returned on the 20th May exhausted, but we had a wonderful time.
