The Gleddings children greatly enjoy the opportunity to help others and they rise to the challenge of supporting children, adults and animals in need locally, nationally, and globally. 2007-2009- The Gleddings became a 157 Goat School! Children raised money in many exciting, innovative and often heart rending ways to buy goats for the Third World.
- The older children set up fun activities in a young enterprise initiative to raise money for our local Overgate Hospice.
- Seventy children filled shoe boxes with gifts for disadvantaged children in Europe (Operation Shoe Box)
- All of the school participated in Children in Need and Comic Relief in a whole variety of ways.
- Everyone sang at the end of the last academic year at St Jude's and raised money to support the church building.
- At Christmas the children sang at Ravenscliffe School to raise money to purchase special equipment to aid learning for young people who experience severe learning difficulties.
- Everyone sang at the Parish Church at Christmas and raised money to support the church building.
- We supported the R.S.P.B's 'Save the Albatross' campaign by collecting used stamps.
- We raised enough money to provide 20 hives for Africa.
- Children made Christmas cards which were sold to raise money towards the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust's new hospice.
- Middle IV write to a teenage girl in Guinea Bissau, in north west Africa, who is supported by The Gleddings through the charity, Plan International.
- We are twinned with a primary school in France, L'Ecole du Sacré Coeur, near Lyon.
- We raised £3210.25 in a sponsored Readathon for The Sargent Cancer Care for Children and The Roald Dahl Foundation.
- The whole school took part in various sponsored activities to raise money for Crossley's Sports Hall.
- We sold tea towels at Christmas in support of Andrea's Gift which raises money for Brain Tumour Research & Support for both children and adults.
- We are included in partnership with Crossley's sports activities and take part in sports fixtures with local schools.
- We are members of the Soft Federation of Primary and Secondary schools in the immediate locality.
